A little time ago I came across Petite Pi. and I was immediately intrigued by the collection. The special design and  unexpected materials are what make these handmade jewelry to stand out. The designer and creator Pistea Tzala, talks in Out of the Box about her collection and the reasons that made her work on handmade jewelry. My name is Pistea Tzala and I have studied Architecture in Democritus University of Thrace.  <\/span>For the last five years I hold an architecture office in my hometown Trikala.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When and how did you start working on handmade jewelry?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Since I was a little I was fascinated by visual arts. I worked on painting and sculpting and later as an architect I began to design and partly build decorative objects, furniture and decorative lights. Working on handmade jewelry was something spontaneous, originating from my need to create. Without having a specific plan in mind, I started creating my first jewelry in the spring of 2013, jewelry meant just for me\u2026<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

Where does your inspiration come from?<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
The procedure is complicated and different each time. <\/span>I can\u2019t define it. My main concern is to always maintain a balance of colors. Many times this is how I come up with my designs.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

What kind of materials do you use?<\/b>
I use a combination of materials. I select materials that are widely used to create handmade jewelry and combine them with fasteners that are met in building construction, tools, appliances, cars and agricultural<\/span><\/span> machinery.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

How do you feel each time you see a woman wearing a piece you have created?<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
It is a beautiful feeling. What is also very interesting is the way each woman adopts them to her personal style. The thing that satisfies me the most however is the fact that my pieces are recognizable, something I realized when a girl approached me and asked me: \u201cIs the necklace you are wearing made by Pistea?\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n
